Disclosure first. This review is written by the person who builds and sells Gold Scalpers Pro. It is not an independent review. What it tries to do is give you the facts a buyer needs – including the weak spots – with numbers you can reproduce yourself in MetaTrader 5.
The short verdict
Good fit if you want a gold EA that always trades with a stop loss, never averages into losers, explains what it is doing on the chart, and gives you tools to stay inside prop-firm limits.
Not a fit if you want smooth monthly income. The backtests contain a losing stretch of several months, and the drawdown over a long window is far bigger than over a good month. If a 25% drawdown on your chosen lot size would make you switch it off, choose a smaller lot or the Low drawdown preset – or don’t buy it.

How it trades
The EA reads two lines that are drawn on your chart: the Slope Direction Line and the 50 EMA. A trade can open in two ways, and both are on by default:
- The cross – the Slope line crosses the 50 EMA (up for a buy, down for a sell).
- The turn – the Slope line changes direction, green for a buy and magenta for a sell, on the correct side of the 50 EMA.
Each signal must then pass every filter: price on the trade’s side of the 50 EMA, the ZeroLag MACD on the same side of zero, a chop filter that skips price hugging the EMA, a confirmation candle with a real body, a spread cap and a news pause. Only closed candles count, so a half-formed candle never opens a trade.
Exits. A cross entry’s stop sits beyond the last swing on the far side of the 50 EMA plus a 20-pip buffer; a turn entry’s stop sits beyond the last 3 candles. Once a trade is 300 pips ahead, the stop moves to lock those 300 pips. Targets are 1,200 pips for cross entries and 300 for turn entries.
On the website edition, an optional AI news reader reads the top ForexFactory story every 2 minutes and can open one trade per story. That part cannot be backtested, so it is not in any figure on this page; it can be switched off with one input.
The numbers – good month and bad stretch
All figures are MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester runs on real XAUUSD ticks, 0.01 lot on a $1,000 deposit, default settings. They are backtests, not live trading.
| Period | Net | Profit factor | Max drawdown | Trades |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 14 Sep – 14 Oct 2026 (v4.50 defaults) | +$77.81 | 1.33 | 5.37% | 127 (83.5% won) |
| 12 Jan – 14 Sep 2026 (closest measured setup) | +$99.33 | 1.06 | 25.6% | 727 |
| of which 12 Jan – 14 May | −$181.94 | – | – | – |
| Low drawdown preset (New York 13:00–19:00), same 8 months | +$265.33 | – | 10.3% | 246 |
Read the win rate carefully. In the latest month the average winning trade made $2.99 and the average losing trade lost $11.40. The EA wins often and small and loses less often but bigger. That is a valid design – the profit factor says whether it pays – but it means a few losses can erase a week of wins. The full report and how to reproduce it are on the results page.
What it does well
- A stop on every trade, set when the order is sent. No “mental stops”, no averaging down.
- Rules you can see. The lines it trades are on your chart, and it labels the bars it traded.
- Serious risk tools. A 16% drawdown stop with a 10% early warning, a daily trade cap, a loss-streak cooldown, a spread cap and an optional Prop-Firm Mode with percentage daily-loss and max-drawdown limits.
- Deposits and withdrawals do not count as drawdown, so moving money never trips the stop.
- A pre-flight check on attach that tells you if permissions, symbol, lot limits or history are wrong.
- Honest pricing. $140 once, with every update, and a 30-day refund.
Weaknesses we know about
- It has bad stretches. January to May 2026 lost money on the default sessions. Expect months like that.
- No public live account yet. The figures are backtests. A live MQL5 Signal is planned; until it exists, test it yourself.
- Small average win, bigger average loss. See above – a high win rate is not the same as a big edge.
- News trades are untested by design (the tester has no news feed). Switch
HotStoryTradeoff if you only want measured behaviour. - Setup friction. You must activate your MT5 account number and allow
https://goldscalpers.comunder WebRequest. About five minutes, once. - Gold only, MT5 only, and it needs MT5 running – a VPS in practice.

Who should buy it – and who should not
| Buy it if… | Skip it if… |

| You want a disciplined gold EA with a stop on every trade | You need steady monthly income from it |
| You will run it in the Strategy Tester and on demo first | You will not test before going live |
| You size the lot for a 25% drawdown (or use the Low drawdown preset) | A 25% drawdown on your lot would make you quit |
| You trade a prop account and want enforced limits | You want a grid that “never loses” |

FAQ
Is Gold Scalpers Pro legit?
It is a real MetaTrader 5 Expert Advisor sold for $140 with a 30-day money-back guarantee, rated 4.7/5 from 72 ratings on Gumroad, and its Market edition passed MetaQuotes' validation. Legit is not the same as profitable: its own backtests include a losing four-month stretch.
What are Gold Scalpers Pro's real results?
In the MT5 Strategy Tester on real ticks, 0.01 lot on $1,000: +$77.81, profit factor 1.33 and a 5.37% maximum drawdown from 14 September to 14 October 2026. Over January to September 2026 the closest measured setup made +$99.33 with a 25.6% maximum drawdown and lost money from January to May. These are backtests, not live results.
Does Gold Scalpers Pro use martingale or grid?
No. Every trade opens with a stop loss at market structure, one entry per signal, and the optional pyramiding (adding to winners, never to losers) ships switched off.
Who should not buy Gold Scalpers Pro?
Anyone who needs steady monthly income, anyone who cannot sit through a 25% drawdown on the lot size they choose, and anyone who will not run it in the Strategy Tester and on demo first.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. Email support@goldscalpers.com with your order number within 30 days of purchase for a full refund.
